Hey all,

I have a samsung spica i5700 running on 2.1 eclair and i've found out that the call voice clarity is pretty bad,
It is manageable when both the parties talk loudly, but it gets really annoying when i talk in the night(when the ambient noise is low), I hear a hissing noise and the caller on the other line hears only when i talk loudly, Whispers aren't heard unless you whisper very loudly. This happens on both the handset aswell as on the handsfree.

I've googled for "poor call quality on android" and i saw many topics discussing about poor call quality on most of the android phones like, moto droid, HTC evo, nexus one and others.

P.S- If you haven't experienced any such issues, try calling someone and see if the other person can hear you whispers.

Even i am using spica i am not facing any issues as you mentioned ,everything is perfectly fine with my phone guess you got a bad piece go back to Samsung and ask them to replace the same

If you have not modded then take it service center and explain them the problem ,they should be able to fix it

No issues here on my Spica as well.

As as far as googling is concerned, no matter what issue you search, irrespective of the company, someone, somewhere must have faced a similar issue ! :P

Call quality is excellent on my Spica & exceptionally good on my Milestone.....

U shud probably take ur phone to the hospital...... er.... sorry..... the Samsung ASC..... :P

:D

Hmm, so the problem lies with my phone, I did a complete reset including FW reinstall which didn't help in anyway, I'll take it to the ASC and find out the issue, Thanks guys,

The Problem is not Android itself.. Problem may consist in your mobile phone or operator you are using. Go to Samsung ASC and ask them to fix it or replace the device. :)

One more thing you can try is, put any other operator SIM card in your mobile phone and test the sound quality if it is good then problem is with the operator you are using.

do try a different Operator if not already.

I did try using a different operator but the problem didn't solve, Anyway, About asking for a replacement phone, Are there any chances of samsung giving me a new phone considering mine is only 17 days old?
