The series was adapted into live-action films released in Japan on June 17, 2006, on November 3, 2006, and on February 2, 2008. The anime series aired in Japan from October 3, 2006, to June 26, 2007. A novel based on the series, written by Nisio Isin, was released in Japan on August 1, 2006.

This is one of the best animes i have watched , still on the 25th episode but its amazing and worth a mention here.

My personal best is Naruto and Bleach but this anime tells the story in 37 Episodes , no fillers at all.

Yup its good :P been watching it since new eps were coming every week. man those 3 characters have brains!
 
i am on the 22nd episode right now!,...started watching last week.

actually this is my first anime,..i still have to watch Bleach,Naruto etc.
i decided to start with this one only because of the less number of episodes:P

story is interesting until now,..there are a couple of "WTF?" moments which completely leave you shocked.

will finish watching soon and report back.
 
Some really nice characters in the anime. L being my fav.

It doesnt follow the manga closely , you should watch the oneshot directorys cut however does come close to the original story.

Really short and sweet to watch.

i heard a lot about this anime there is even a live action movie based on it how does it fare when compared to Gits and Bebop ??
 
This anime is all brain game, much different from bleach/naruto/bebop. There is a small filler arc around 16-17 episodes :P .
 
In my opinion Bebop is much better than Death Note, DN gets boring after a certain character dies. People who like Death Note should also watch Noir and Hellsing - both dark animes, and better than DN. And another classic - Monster.
 
i liked naruto, bleach, death note, dragon ball ....

any other new anime to watch in these categories ?
 
Noir is an awesome anime, but not everyone's cup of tea.. it's much more emotional and mind involving than DN, those who're looking for lot of action will get disappointed in Noir...

but DN has wicked brain-games going on. The best part about DN is that after few episodes, it's really really hard to tell... who's protagonist and who's antagonist, there is large palette of gray used for both the characters. I really can't compare and grade Noir or Death Note, both are equally good to me.

At first I wasn't sure I liked the ending of Death Note... but those who have watched it please watch last episode again and those who are yet to reach last episode yet, pay attention to Ryuk's monologue in the end... Once you get that part, you'll agree it couldn't have been better. I could tell the specific line... but then that will be HUGE HUGE spoiler. :P

Currently, I'm following Naruto (it's really been sad, stupid, boring, idiotic, irritating lately).

About to finish, Trinity Blood.

Thinking of starting either Blood+ or Hellsing after this.
 
I've watched a Lot of Anime's till now my Personal Favorites

1)DGrayman:clap: -Great Storyline much better than Naruto

2)Kekaishi-Supernatural 51 eps but all of em are great

3)Full Metal manic(Lots Of Laugh's)/Mecha:P

4)Soul Eater-Enjoyed it a lot:ohyeah:

And last but not the least TenJou Tenge :hap2: a Martial Arts Based Anime
 
try to watch the movie of death note too. Its a 2 part movie. The ending is different in the movie, but i feel the ending in the anime is better.
