If i get a Debit Card now will i be charged the Annual Maintenance Charges this year or from next year?

Some banks' savings accounts have no annual charges for debit cards, usually depends on maintaining a minimum balance.

I'm not sure of the current situation, but one of HDFC's accounts with a 25k min balance has such a free platinum debit card.
