Recently ponytail managed to block URLs/sites with DoT [Dept. of Telecom:scared14:] whichever exposed truth about IIPM.

but now this :

NEW DELHI: Anonymous, a hacker collective, attacked the website of Indian Institute of Planning and Management -- www.iipm.in -- on Saturday morning, forcing it offline.

"#TangoDown iipm.in #IIPMScam. Reason: Got court order to block URLs criticizing them including the UGC (Govt Body) notice," noted a tweet made from @opindia_revenge, a Twitter account used by Indian hackers who claimed to be part of Anonymous. The hackers claimed they brought down 16 websites belonging to IIPM.

The attack on www.iipm.in left IIPM: The Indian Institute of Planning and Management crippled as this website internally links to the content hosted on www.iipm.in. After the attack, the website was offline for nearly nine hours.

On Thursday the department of telecommunications had asked internet service providers (ISPs) to block 78 URLs (web addresses), of which 73 were linked to articles and blogs about the IIPM and its director, Arindam Chaudhuri. The directive was issued after an order by a Gwalior district court.

The list of blocked URLs included a public notice of July 2012 issued by the University Grants Commission saying that "IIPM is not a university within the meaning of section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956".

Indian web users on Twitter and Facebook slammed the DoT directive and mocked IIPM chairman Arindam Chaudhuri. Gursimran Khamba, who described himself as a writer and comic, and who used @gkhmba Twitter account, tweeted, "If Arindam was as good at marketing as he says he is he would've used this controversy to say 'IIPM - No 1 in internet exposure'". Khamba's account has over 35,000 followers.

The web users also shared the text of blocked articles and created new URLs to host them. They talked about 'The Streisand Effect', a web phenomenon which notes that harder someone tries to suppress information on the web, the faster it spreads. On Twitter, UGC and IIMP were among the topics that trended in India on Saturday.

IIPM makes mass ch)#%^& and stupid people still join seeing free laptops and overseas trip.

On the upside though, it's the costliest consumer Laptop you can ever buy :P considering it's the only worthy piece you'll end up taking away at the end of the course.

I wouldn't give it back. They can keep their certificate, which is worthless anyway.

So many people fooled. The dream of middle class parents to brag that their son/daughter has done MBA in front of their relatives is fueling the Ponytail's pocket, he is happily riding away in his luxuries.

Would request everyone to read the blog awesome blog :). Some of the posts are just freaking amazing :D.

Not only IIPM,there are hundreds of private medical schools running in India without MCI recognition.
There are many fraud doctors practicing medicine, who have graduated from some obscure Russian or other Eastern European university.
They even shamelessly use MD with their name!
In our country everything is possible,we have doctors even in huge corporate hospitals who practice as super specialists with MRCP(which is not even a speciality degree)
Why the hostility only towards the ponytailed idiot?

IIPMs name has been linked to the likes of Afzhal Guru. The government has asked DoT to ban some FB pages which had stuff about AG, and as a pondering it was mentioned, this is similar to what IIPM is pushing. It is a curbing of free speech.

That blog (above) mentions that even ISB is not credited. Is that true. That place charges a bomb and a leg+arm.

It is true. They simply don't care about recognition/accreditation and neither do the companies/organizations who recruit from there. What speaks for the school is the quality of its faculty, program, students (most of them belonging to 25+ age bracket as 3 year work-ex is compulsory to be eligible for admission), and some marque people involved with the school's administration (these are the ones who pull in the recruiters). Also, the school is more of a great finishing school for those with entrepreneurial instincts.

That is because this idiot pops up every time i open up the newspaper, in ads talking about social revolution, advertising his path-breaking publication 'The Sunday Indian' in-between news programming and the list goes on.

However, this is not to say anything less of the other concern you have pointed out.
Talking of which, isn't it true that the MBBS degree from East European nations fad has gone down over the last few years?

Nope!It is rising, from Russia it has gone to China and unfortunately it is even worse.
Regarding newspaper ads,I think you guys must have noticed huge ads from Annamalai university for various post grad medical diplomas... they are as useless as IIPM.
There are hundreds of universities in Southern part of India and a very popular one in Sikkim looting truckload of money for useless post grad medical degrees..they are as shameless as IIPM.

The following extract from that article sums up the sentiments and the last line is insightful.

But at the same time, it is important that prospective candidates who want to do an MBA make informed judgments. And to do that they need access to all kinds of information and not only the brochure of the institute they want to apply to.

Hence, it is preposterous that any negative information on IIPM gets contested in lower courts around the country and is ultimately removed from the internet. If after going through this information students still want to apply and join IIPM, then it is really their choice and that should be respected.

The point is that if prospective MBA candidates have to make their decisions to figure out which institutes to apply for only on the basis of information provided by those institutes and their brochures, then they would end up counting chickens before they are hatched.
