Hi Guys,
Just came across this site called myamdzone.com which seems to be an AMD fan site. The motto seems to be "Don't let technology confuse you. For tips, trends, updates & fun stuff from AMD Fans, follow AMDZone!"
It seems like this site caters to the general non-geeky population unlike us.
I've joined the site just for fun. It seems to have some ocassional posts of interesting videos like this one (which I heard on TV and wanted to listen to again). This post also has Google's doodle which was used on MJ's birthday. So, for all you MJ fans out there, here's a resource
Also, this was where I found out about Harley Davidson entering India, first. i like the fact that it is fairly informative and does not restrict itself to "computers" like other technology blogs. Makes for a good read.
I know this sounds like promotion but I'm posting this thread to discuss how viable such sites are and to get thoughts from the community of geeks if they would even look at such sites.
The question I'm asking, up to what level should technology be dumbed down for mass consumption and what sells in today's scenario? And would such sites which do not have a defined "computers" identity make more of an impact than specific sites?
