According to Gartner Inc.,we may have to wait an additional three months more than wat Microsoft had announced. In March, Microsoft had announced that Windows Vista would be delayed until January 2007 for consumers(RTM in November of 2006),but that date could be pushed back another three months if sources from Gartner Inc. have to be believed.....
Vista is the first major overhaul of its operating system, which sits on 90 percent of the world's computers and accounts for nearly a third of Microsoft's total revenue, since Microsoft rolled out Windows XP nearly five years ago.Microsoft had originally targeted a 2005 launch for the new Windows, then pushed the release out to 2006 before announcing in March that Vista would again be delayed to improve the product's quality until January 2007.But if reports from Gartner Inc. are to believed then the Windows Vista operating system is just too complex for the Microsoft to reach even its November target for volume licensees.....
But reacting to quickly these reports......Microsoft has of course denied any reports that it is falling behind schedule and it has reaffirmed that it is still on target to reach the announced November/January release dates.
As quoted in a report in Reuters
Gartner targets a Windows Vista release in the April-June quarter of 2007, nine to 12 months after Microsoft conducts a second major test, or "beta," release for Vista during the current quarter.
"Microsoft still wants to get it out as soon as possible, but slipping from January to March is nowhere near as bad as slipping from shipping before the holidays to after the holidays," a group of Gartner analysts wrote in the report.
So is there really a smoke coming from the Microsoft Camp:huh: or are these analysts from Gartner Inc. beating around the bush.....
All I can say tat at this time, we dont have have any exact details....
But I guess we'll see within the next six months whether there was something concrete that these analysts knew and we didn't?
