PC Peripherals Another Stupid Question!

Ok guys my paranoia have forced me to create this topic, do tell me what should I do.
I have played so far around 4-6 games on by 6800Ultra, i'm waiting for my Hard Disk to arrive by this year end so i'll be able to run other games.
Now considering prices of cards are falling should i sell this card and get something new?

I wont be able to invest anything more than 3k + this cards current value.
So what will be better for me?
I use a 17 inch monitor as of now.

Also if i dont sell this card after say 4/7 months wont the value hugely depreciate? because If i dont sell it i would have to stick to this for atleast 2 years minimum, will this be able to run the games.........?

btw, my own money so yeah.

Vandal's X1800XT also got sold....so, you missed out on that too....

What you can do is to arrange for a second hand 7800 GT for abt 11K (Seeing that X1800 XTs sold for 12K, 7800GTs should be abt 11K) and then sell your card for abt 7K......
 
Hmm so 6800u wont be enough to play games ocassionally on 17 inch monitor?
Question is will i benefit any from buying any such above cards that will let me play with quite a lot diff on a 17inch monitor over the upcoming games that my 6800u can offer?
 
X86 i would suggest you to sell this now and buy a cheap card for another two months... Here is the logic...

Sell this now and save up 8K...

Wait for the GF 8 Series mid end cards

GF 8 Mid end cards will rack down the prices of complete GF 7 series cards...

You will have 8+3 = 11K to spare...

You can either get a ATI X19XX series then or a GF 8 series mid end card easily ;)...
 
Meesa waiting for 8600gt as well :D But I'm afraid it'll cost aound 14-15k at launch, same as 6600gt and 7600gt :( And within 2 months after I've bought it, it'll crash to below 10k :P
 
my advice..sell it now..for a good amnt arnd 7k..,use onboard for sometime.
u already have 3k..and then save more money and sum it up to arnd 15-16k ..and then later get a high-end dx 9 card or a mid end Dx 10. car when they lauch..in short same as what SWITCH said...

man ..x86...it's really such a confusion about buying the latest hardware..specially when u havent got a lot of mullah... i am in a similar condition actually worst then that..just cant upgrade for next 12 mnths..and till then my 6600gt will be like very very low end..(like a pci card in today gen)
:( i really dnt like.. this world of fast fast upgrades ! only cauz i cant spend tht much..:@ :@ ....

Oh my goodness!! dont u even think of suggesting onboard!!! man, i had a measely 6600 (non GT). i had to switch to on-board for a few days, till i get my board replaced. God it sucked! I ended up buying a new mobo to end my misery.. lol..[/QUOTE]

yup u r rite..but tht also depends..on what u have onboard..if u have some decent ATI onboard gfx..then it's ok..but otherwise..its...like hell..if u have a pro savage 2d/3d or vodoo and stuff like tht which i have as onboard but never used it !!

absolutely 1000% fully & accurately true onboard graphics sucks :@ I have been facing the torture since 5th November :( & have to face it 12 more days :'(

thanks to Funky I can't even install my Intel X975XBX :@

IN x86's case he doesnt have onboard option. also, i was using Intel Extreme Graphics :tongue:
 
lol i'm still not so sure if anyone will buy my card in market section :P lets see i'll put this up for sale after some days lemme think a bit i guess.

I got three other cards...he's welcome to PM me with offers, but I won't post for sale here.....:P

btw I had advised against buying that dadaa....suffer the consequences of contradicting the vandal :bleh:

Also nikhil...I sold it cheap cause it didn't have warranty here...its worth at least 14K with indian warranty....plus I don't believe in being a beetch about pricing....
And a 7800GT is so far behind that a 1K price difference is insulting :P
 
You will get around 7-8K for your card if you are lucky.So sell it now and wait a few months for the prices of dx9 card to come down when the dx10 cards become more widely available.Then you can easily get a 7900gt card for a price of 10-11k(7k from your card + 4k).
 
bro i'll give you a call also 25th dec ;) coming.

anyways i guess i'll put up mine card for sale after some days need to decide, really cash stripped :(
 
I recommemd to keep this card, buz it can handle decent gaming n fair play. dont sell this card its not worth it, wait for dx10 games untill then dont upgrade. god dam save ur 3k ;)
