NeoHE 500W

First off..
Thanks to TheITDepot.com and TNT!
Shipped on Monday, recieved @ 3.45 PM Tuesday!
Next day Shipping. Not bad :D at all.
Adding to that, it was packed marvelously.

First Impressions

First off, heres the Box it comes in.

Here is an Image of the Rails Rating.

First impression to the Power Supply was, "Whoa, its small for a 500 Watter!!"
Then i realised it was quite on the "Heavy" Side of things :P.

Heres a look at all the things you get in the Box!

Nothing special. The PSU, Cables (All Modular+Sleeved), Power Cord and User Manual.

Heres a close look at the front and back of the PSU!

The Modular ports were really sturdy :P. Took a lot of force, removing the Modular Pin from the Socket (Ofcourse i pressed the Release hook! Duh!)

Heres a look at the Cables.. All of them are sleeved! Adds to the Glamour of the PSU :).

Pretty long, to my surprise as well. :).

Well, 4get the looks!

Testing

Heres the performance!
I havent used a DMM Yet! So i cant confirm if these ratings are normal.
Asus Boards tend to Read the Voltages wrongly on the Lower side.

The Test Rig was..
Pentium D 820 @ 3.5 Ghz coupled with a XP-90 and a 4000RPM TT Blue LED Fan
Asus P5LD2 LGA 775 Motherboard
ATi x800 xl (Not the best for Testing the PSU yes, but thats the best i got)
Corsair 512*2 DDR2-533 Kit @ 667Mhz
Western Digital 250GB PATA + 40GB Samsung SATA HDD's

Here are the Load Screenshots, RTHDRIBL running for 15 mins.

Heres one, with it running in Dual Prime + RTHDRIBL!

12.02 in the 12V Rail is REALLY REALLY good!
Im very happy with this PSU here :).

Conclusion
To me, it looks like a very impressive PSU, and is worth every Rupee i spent on it.
Id recommend this PSU to anyone, whos looking for the Performance + Looks Combination.

Rs.6581 + 300Rs. Shipping to be exact.
Rs.6300 without Taxes.
Reasonable, due to the Duties imposed in India :(.

There we have it.
In the end, a really good PSU.
Rock Solid Rails! Rock Solid Quality!

Good job Antec!!

Good effort man.... post back with DMM readings and you have some reps :P

his gfx card is puny and he wont be sinking enough watts to put some appreciable load on the psu. i would suggest to him to get some fake loads..... like light bulbs and such and draw another 10A so that the PSU is somewhat stressed.

but DMM readings wont hurt at all....

It would be interesting to see how this PSU handles a X1900XTX and future cards... recommended power for the 7900GTX is 22A on the 12v rail.

^^Chaos uses a X1900XTX with a Antec Neo HE 500 Watts.

He is going to get a Opty 165 too.

He will OC too.

Ask him.

I seem to have read somewhere that single 12v supplies were preferable for the newer graphic cards as compared to the ones like Neo which have 2 12v rails. For example a 30 ampere rating on 1 12v rail was preferable to a say 17a rating on each of 2 12v rails.
Is this true? If yes, how does it affect a pc's performance?

^^ Actually.

The NeoHE has 3 Rails.

In a way its better for SLI/Crossfire.

Since i can use 1 card on each rail, and 1 rail for the mobo/cpu.
