i have a budget of 20k for a Gpu and a gig of ram. my PC config is

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @1.86ghz,
Gigabyte 945 GM S2 ,
1 GB DDR2 transcend @ 533 mhz,
Samsung 740N.

now i know you guys may suggest me a 7900 GT or GS but you see i can wait for about Jan 07 to get the card IF there really is gonna be a price drop (due to DX10) or something good is around the corner then.

(planning to buy from mumbai or pune only)

so what do you guys think ???
 
^^ I dont think DX10 cards are going to be launched in that price bracket so soon.

you want to buy a GPU+ 1GB Ram in 20k ?

Well .. there should be a price drop ,.... but i think our market will be quite slow to actually implement it .. if u can wait till dx10 midrange cards , then wait .. or else get a good mid-high range card now ..
 
I'd honestly recommend you to wait, (if you can hold on to the craving that is).

Untill the launch of a DX 10 game the prices wont change significantly. But as soon as a DX10 game launches, the market would begin to show the signs.

So, for now, if you have a mid range or even low end card, I'd recommend you hold on to it for now.
 
wait for how long i am desperate for a GPU (sick of playing nfsmw and half life 2 on slideshow settings:( :( :( ). i have already dropped my plan to get 7600gt and will not settle for anything less than a 7900 GT .

a DX10 card is a distant dream for me as the midrange cards will definitely take time to arrive.

yup 20k for ram+gpu
 
^^Take one of the x1900xt/xtx cards sold in the market section or else wait for 8800GTS prices to fall down. I don't think you'll get a better deal anywhere.
