any application to reduce size of video?

hii guyz.. can any1 help me find any application that could effectively reduce the size of video in .avi, .mp4 etc formats... kindly go ahead n even suggest me.. i would find n download them myself.. thanks!!

For the past 3-4 years, I've used almost 50-60 ( not kidding ) video converters and I wasn't satisfied until I got ZC Video converter. In a word, its the best video converter you want to have. Any format -> any format with almost same(really almost same unless you increase the resolution) picture quality and cut down the size with a good proportion.

For example, I had an original LP-What I've done video in asf format sized about 64MB. I converted that to avi using xvid(all codec available in that program) codec and to two templates High and Normal. I got 45MB and 23MB respectively for high and Normal. Believe me, I sisn't find any difference between the three. The original resolution of the video was something like 640*480 and I viewed in 1024*768 and yet no diff. hyeah:
