Hi Guys,

I am looking for a temp phone which will help connect to my email and social networking sites and IM.

- Access to my office outlook exchange email with attachments , 2 gmail accounts , hotmail.
- word , excel , powerpoint , pdf.
- IM via Skype , MSN , Yahoo ,
- Facebook , Twitter.
- Youtube.

I want to ask other blackberry 8520 users mainly is how is the corporate mail access.
I was planning on the 299 Rs Plan for unlimited email and social networking how fast is that for this specific device are the mails and attachments viewable instantly.

Also does this have a front led , for call and message alert by any chance.

You get Real Time Email on your phone no matter which email server u are using.....

8520 does have LED indicator at the front and you can modify the settings to get Alert for call,sms or emails etc...(when I had BB I was using Buzzberry)

1. Real Time Email , can u elaborate more, arent the mail received at gprs or edge speeds on the 8250 am confused.

2. what is Buzzberry
 
with 299 plan you cannot usual social networking sites.

you can only use your emails, (can send without attachments) and use all the messengers, bbm, msn, gtalk, yahoo etc.

if you want other connectivity you have to take the other plan. these days its really cheap, they charge 2500rs for 6months (unlimited browsing etc). this plan would give you access to everything.

1.Email will come the way u receive sms...No need of manually retrieving mail like you do using GPRS.
2.buzzberry is a BB application that allows you to select different color for LED for Notification(only settings in BB are green and red led..)
You can choose different color LED indication for different notifications..!!

+1 to that was using that stupid plan till vodafone came up with the new ones.:ohyeah:

Other thing about the ur office mail u will have to chat with ur IDM fellow as not sure if they will give u that access on the phone or no.

and buzzberry is an app which help u to customize the led indicator on u phones for specific callers or alerts of any kind(u can get that app only if u have the unlimited browsing on ur phone unless u find it somewehre else) IMO not really helpful though.

These palns are for prepaid only not postpaid. If u are a postpaid customer vodafone things u will pay more and they charge u 599 for unlimited BIS. or 2500 for 6 months(not sure though).

Best action for this is cal and threaten them if u an old vodafone customer that u will disconnect ur services if they do not act the 399plan. worked for me:hap2:
 
there is some 99Rs thingy for 2gb limit per month internet on vodafone as well right can't i get email + internet via that on blackberry curve 8520

But that is for gprs and if u pop that sim (with act gprs plan) in a bb, ur gprs is normally disabled(as said by the bb fellow in vodafone), but my phone was accessing the gprs but could not log into gmail. None of the google apps run in the bb with activated gprs.

It is possible to use GPRS(any plan) on BB ..

Mine was not working properly. gmail would never open and other websites did. When i went to the vodafone store he mentioned very explicitly that gprs should not work on the bb, but some how it was workin partially on mine. Ohhh wait probably it does not work on the locked phones provided by the companies but works on the unlocked ones. (Can someone confirm that)...

Works on every Bb; locked or unlocked;

just u need to add service books...and enter APN in settings
