I-Am-Not-A-Lawyer

According to the news article "Baruah allegedly confessed to have killed Vibhuti at his residence."
Now Police recorded confessions generally don't hold up strongly on their own, but there is also clear motive & opportunity (as per the article).

An arrest and Police remand means that Police have provided pre-trial evidence to the magistrate. The Police has 15 days of Remand to gather more evidence after which it can appeal for a Judicial Remand which if the evidence is strong can be anywhere from 15-90 days. The prosecution has to begin the trial within the time or let the man the go (due to lack of evidence) .. This does not mean that the case is closed. Investigation will continue.

The process can be emotionally trying, please do not hesitate to seek professional help in dealing with this.
I just hope the memory of your sister gets honored and your family comes to peace.

Yes, thats the legal course .. 15-90 days depending on the crime committed/charged. Murder is a non bailable offence so the the person would have to spend this time in Jail.

Of Course if the prosecution gets enough evidence before that then the charge sheet can be filed and trial can commence..
The Police Chargesheet is the main thing at this stage.

First
my deepest condolences to you and your family...
now as to the topic in question...DBG took care of it mostly..
i would advice you to pray the PP is a very good one, and prepare for a harrowing time ahead..since the defense lawyer will try to find anything and everything that would allow the guy to escape(including temporary insanity)
the "confession" wont be very useful in this case since it wasn't a judicial one..but since motive and opportunity points to him should be an prompt trial and justice will be served.
lets just hope the PP and the police does his job.

may your sisters soul R.I.P.
i usually make big posts...but am at a loss of words :\

I can only offer my condolences and wish you the best of luck to get justice in a timely manner.
Sad to hear such things happening to any person. :(

I wont...I am trying my best to make sure that bast** does not come out.

Guys do you suggest to post this on FB so that everyone is aware of it.

Depends on what you have to say really, you can try to solicit help I suppose like you did here.

The trial hasn't even started, so far the man is innocent (until proven guilty) .. The family could sue you for defamation etc. Dont give them any opportunity.
Even during the trial, I would suggest you hold back on publicly calling out the man.
