Any discount on a new sony music system by reselling my old one

hi guys!....i purchased sony MHC GNZ9D DvD Music system in 2005. it started giving me trouble from 2008 onwards. last month i placed the system for repair in one of sony's authorised service center in South ex. New delhi. however, after keeping the system for 10-12 days they now have stated that the system is beyond repair. so i had to take the system back to home.

i have already made a post in TE asking for amplifier, but that didnt work out too well. is there a procedure to give my system back to sony and get discount on purchase of a new sony system.

pls i seriously need help.(coz it just pains me to let go of a system that costed me 28K and to top it the speakers are ok.)

If the auxiliary (AUX) mode works fine, just connect it to a DVD Player or TV and make use of the speaker setup.

well u can use the speakers,if the audio input works.
but if the music system was sold in india ,considering it ain't that old,i am not sure why they can't repair it,try another sony service center,raise the issue with sony.

if the cost of repairing it his high i would suggest going in for a separate amp/cd /speaker setup.

Many years back, my system was sent to Sony Main Centre on Mathura Road. I wonder if it is still there. But they did a good job with a 10 yr old system. So you can try.

Forget the fools at Sony, I'm sure you can find technicians who repair imported hi-fi A/V equipments. They'll have enough expertise to tell you what best can be done, rather salvaged. In most cases, sourcing spares can be expensive, so be ready to pay.

If he can get the AUX mode to work somehow, you'll have a good audio setup for your DVD player or TV. ;)

Thanks...i sent an email to sony to see whats their take on the situation . if nothing works ,then i guess i have to look for good technicians.
