Any Forza Horizon 5 players here ?

I have the game pass version

The game is amazing other than a few annoying bugs:
  1. vegetation and terrain texture pop in is horrible even on extreme. Seems to be bugged. Turn setting down to high and try playing at a higher resolution natively.
  2. SSAO is borked as well and needs to be turned off
  3. MSAA is weird too
  4. Mouse cursor stuck on screen
  5. game may not start if you don't run as admin
  6. game may get stuck on loading. Have to pull up the box game bar to let it load. Weird af
  7. game may crash after launch. Check forza horizon 5 forums for more
If you arent plagued by the more severe issues, this game is a car guys wet dream. This horizon gives me TDU2 vibes in some places. The car selection and quality is insane. Theres always stuff to do and the game is generally gorgeous(Besides the distracting LOD)

These should be fixed soon and PG has a decent track record of fixing stuff.

So I uninstalled and re-downloaded the game today, and the random stutters are largely solved. Settings same as before (will attach screenshot soon), and the fps is still cut in half when I reach the forest/any area with dense foliage/certain parts of cities (largely due to just 6GB VRAM I think), but the game feels much smoother now. The anti aliasing seems much better too, with much less jaggies noticeable than before. I don't think a reinstall can solve all these issues, but not sure if any update has been pushed out. either way, I'm even happier playing it now :D

If relevant, I'm playing it on a 10870H and RTX 3060 (only 6GB VRAM thanks to NoVideo) laptop with 24GB RAM, of which first 16GB is dual channel

People that tried it on Game Pass for Windows, did your download have issues?

I can download everything from everywhere (including other gamepass games) maxxing out my 150MBPS bandwidth. But Forza 5 for some reason would just download around 3-4MBPS. Not very optimal for a game thats over 100GB in size.
 
I downloaded it using XBox App and it maxed out my connection (100mbps) aswell. It just doesn't launch. Tried one hour of troubleshooting before giving up. Finally decided that not worth the time and effort. Made me really change my opinion of console gaming. Will come back in a month or so when it gets patched.
 
I am yet to finish the full intro sequence, but I'll be done by the weekend. Even I was looking for people to play with.

My gamer tag is kvn95ss.

I preloaded the game with my xbox pass. And honestly, I don't remember seeing my cursor while playing the game!

I'm on Medium ( rx570) and get upper 60 to 80 fps (the intro lava sequence dipped to upper 50s)

If you're having issues with it crashing try reinstalling then running it as admin. Make sure you have all other background tasks closed.

Did all that. Reinstalled thrice over three nights, two times from XBox app, once from MS Store. Ran as admin, closed all the background apps / antivirus / overlay apps / DDU the drivers. You name it, I had already done it. Except for Windows reinstall (which I just did last month anyway).

Game has to be in a terrible state of you need to do so much stuff just to make it run

Win aero tweaker let's you change most of the UI elements. Fh5 is extremely unstable on win 10 from what I've seen

I like Windows 10. I never upgrade this early in any OS release. Moreover I don't have any reason to upgrade. I might not upgrade till I don't find a genuine reason. Why fix something that's not broken.

FH5 not running isn't that big of a reason to upgrade to Windows 11 (and still there is no guarantee that it will run). Initially I was pretty excited, I preloaded tha game, slept early the night before and woke up at 4am to play. I was disappointed to say the least but I'm a very patient guy. After three four days I made up my mind to buy Xbox Series X in the next 4-6 months :tearsofjoy:.

I bought the ultimate xbox pass 2 weeks back and playing fh5 and dark alliance, have fh4 as well...dont get too much time to play a few hours during weekend or 1hr during weekdays at max.

same issue, main reason i didnt play it at all lmao. plus i have a 560x laptop it wasnt going to be a smooth ride anyway :laughing:
