The topic says it all...Like for IRC XDCC search, one can use gogloom.com/xdcc or packetnews.com (Please feel free to add more to this list if there are better IRC XDCC search sites you may know about)

Anyway, coming back to the original question, I am a total n00b to DC++ (d/l ed it yesterday), and it seems that I need to login to a hub beefore searching for available files....Is there any site (or way) where I can do a globalsearch on DC++ hubs?
 
as far as i know...No.
Dc++ hubs grow each and every day...there are more than 1000's of servers...there is a search engine on any particular hub you might want to try -
www.hublist.org
but that's as close as you can get.
