Any good portable MiFi routers ?

As the title says, any recommendations on good portable 3g routers that do not need an external dongle, but can directly accept a SIM and access the 3G network?
Edit: These are MiFi devies as raksrules pointed out.

I have a ZTE one i got from ebay. Forgot the model. But it was way cheaper. 3k or so. ZTE MF61

Micromax has one i believe.

portable + sim = GSM
portable + dongle = CDMA

all purpose use is portable + dongle as it works with either. This is why i suspect the sim models don't sell too well because cdma wireless is always cheaper.

As to good, whatever chipset they use, will have to hit wikidevi for this one. But then how much range do you need anyway, if its portable you cannot expect to be in another room. Have to be in close proximity.

I had the Micromax thing, it is an absolute waste of money. It hangs in a few minutes of connecting 3g.

This uses a Qualcomm chipset, so looks like the best option. Is it working well?

How about using your mobile to create a hotpspot ? Assuming you can do this in the first place.

Otherwise you have yet one more device to deal with and its battery.

How about buying a second hand cheap basic android phone which has hotspot functionality.
