Well one of my frnd is returning frm us..and i may get a lappy with him...max budget 40k ard(indian money)..so any good deals ard........
Dont know why i find dell lappy expensive there now.....or i checked at wrong space....
 
well either look for vostro notebooks there.. (they are bloody cheap specially the 1500 .. ul get a 160 gb, 2gb, 128 gfx card notebook for like 550 usd.. tas shittin 22ks.. even 1400 is reasonable) else if u want inspiron look google dell coupons an ul get something like $400 off $1299 notebooks.. these offers would make inspirons reasonable..

plus the us market is chok a block wit offers these days.. specially cause of thanksgiving.. tell ur friend to pick up a notebook from anywher durin black friday an ul most probably be very happy with the deal he gets..
 
You might want to check out the ASUS EEE if that would suite your need. One cannot call it a fully fledged lappy, but should suffice for normal office usage.
 
dude.. the asus eee is one crappy comp in comparison wit its prices.. only good part is the screen size./. an i prob think it can only be used to surf the web.. doubt if 2 many other softwares could be loaded on a 4gb hdd.. specially basics such as ms office, adobe, picasa etc..

to sum it up.. asus eee only if u want a web browsing device.. else opt for a comp..
 
my friend ordered an Inspirion 1520 @ 51k with following config:

9 Cell Battery etc...

From Dell India, Good Deal IMO. They have some discounts on Inspirion 1520.

since it comes with 3 USB 2.0 ports, it can be used as a b**ch download rig :D :P

for max 40K budget, it better be used not for buying asus eee but Acer or even Dell 1420(37K). there are couple of decent compaq (X2 turion) models for 32k and 35k .. check out switch's thread :)

edit: oh cool from the usa, hmm ask your friend to check out some local stores for some good deals!

Arya i must say damn good deal..but sorry right now cant get an expensive piece...40k was after all hitting myself...but now seeing vostro cheap i guess..for 1-2 year i can go with it...i need a cheap decent but importnat with decent gfx since i want to learn gfx stuff in my office in spare time...
