Laptops Any laptop worth getting from US? (Amazon only)

Hey guys!

my friend is posted in a remote location off US and has access to shop from amazon.

he has offered to get me a laptop.

Is it worth it?? i checked up the prices of a few laptops, but dint find any major difference!

some enlightenment would be great

deals do come up but often after some other webstore posts it and amazon offers the same discount

In addition to this, if it is your friend paying for the laptop with his credit card then you might sometimes be out of luck as generally if a deal is hot enough, it gets OOS soon.

Ohkay!! so what i undestand is that one needs to lookout for deals. As such there is no blanket benefit of purchasing from amazon...

If you friend can get it shipped to his location then Fry's is also good option. Fry's electronics usually had good laptop prices.

If it is gaming laptops or laptops <1000$ or so then u can see a noticeable difference.

Eg:

MSI GT780DXR-446 laptop:

Price in US : 1899 ~ 95k (Source : http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gt780dxr446us-p-3434.html )

Price in India : 1.5L (Source : http://www.ebay.in/itm/MSI-G-Series-GT780DXR-446US-17-3-Inch-Screen-Laptop-/270929302352?pt=IN_PC_Laptops&hash=item3f14a51350 ) Even if u get discounts, it will be around 1.3L.
