Any one has done shopping from B & H PHOTO VIDEO store

Hi ,

I am planning to buy Pentax KX from B&H Photo Video Store(USA). I heard that there is India Liaison Office in Pune.But i am not sure about what are the other charges i have to pay when i buy KX from B&H online shopping.

Is there any one who has done shopping from B&H or AMAZON and get it delivered to India(any state) if so let me know the overall process involved.

Taking a small example of duties..

Canon 550D kit, $900 in BHphoto

on calculating price with 26.84% duty, price comes out Rs 51872

Canon 550D kit street price in india ~46K
 
great site, very reliable and they have been in the business for a while now but i'm sorry, i don't know much about shipping to india.
 
charges a lot with duty and shipping , unless its something you cannot get elsewhere then theres no point

I Got Reply from BHINDIA chk out:

Camera :PENTAX KX + 2 Kit lense(18-55 & 55-300mm) for 729$(666$ Price & 63$ for shipping via UPS) which is 33k(aprox) + 9k Cutom duty and taxes so Final Total =42,500Rs !

I dnt think its that bad deal but paying 9 to 10k. but i am in 2 minds to go for this purchase as i didnt got any user who has done shopping from B&H Recently.

Kindly let me know if any one has done shopping with them and got it delivered to India successfully/

^^ may i ask why so adamant about the K-x? :)

you can go for a nikon D5000 + 18-55 kitlens + the 55-200 VR for the same money in India itself.

Hi

I enquired for D5000 but it ll be more than 50k for nikon D5000 + 18-55 kitlens + the 55-200 VR lense(with warrnty) but with Pentax i have lots adv like Low light Performance Kit lense of 55 -300mm,compact and Light wight.. etc.

Any ways i am thinking to ask my fri who is coming from US next month in that case i can get it for 30k:cool2::D

Thank you. Kind of you to say so. We DO ship to India. You can visit our regular site, bhphoto.com. There's a shipping fee calculator on each product's page and another in the shopping cart. You can get the s&h fee for any item or for a shopping cart full of items without making any commitment to purchase.

We're aware the bhindia.com site shows as suspect for some ISPs. it's not infected and we're working on fixing the warning.

We're implementing two projects we hope will make online shopping simpler. One is a currency converter. That's now working for half-a-dozen currencies and we're adding more as quickly as we can. The other is a VAT/customs/duty calculator which will be attached to the shipping fee calculator. It will provide information you can use to determine whether a purchase from us is economical and when it's completely implemented it will allow you to pay these fees to us along with your s&h, saving you time and reducing inconvenience when your merchandise gets to you.

Hi Henry, Thanks for the details. well it will be a great news if you solve the problems of vat/custmos/duty charges so that it will be easy for customer to buy in one shot and need not to pay more after online payment.
we will be waiting for this changes. :hap2:
