Any one know how to update message center number on Motorola atrix 4G

Hi Guys,

Vodafone has started 3g trials here in Hyderabad...and So I got a new prepaid and tried sending "TRY 3G" to "111"..but it failed...I am able to send messages to other mobile numbers but not able to send to Hutch Care(111)...I called up their CC and they asked me to update the message center number...But I could not find "message center number" entry in my Message>Settings...I googled and found out that I have to edit some com.android.mms_preferences.xml file but even that does not have the so called entry "pref_key_manage_smsc_address"...thinking of manually entering the key and value..But before that wanted to check if any of you guys faced such issues..

P.S: I have sent the above message changing the sim to my other non-android phone..But want to know why I am not able to do it in my atrix..

I successfully used tata docomo and bsnl 3g on my Atrix by creating respective apn by regular method of just adding bsnlnet as apn and leaving rest blank.

It does work.I did not have to bother about messing up in system files.

Its not about adding apns...I dont have any problem with that...I am not able to update message center number because of which I am not able to send messages to operator specific numbers(like 111,144,789 in case of vodafone)...

Try dialling *#*#4636#*#*

Select Phone Information. Scroll down on the next screen. You will see the field for SMSC setting. Refresh it to get current SMSC number. Then edit it and update to save new SMSC number.
