Any tips on saving mobile plans?

Aren't annual prepaid plans cheaper? I pay 2000 INR for unlimited talk text and 24 GB of data. Now, it has increased to 2249 INR and 30 GB of data but still cheaper than postpaid right?

It actually 1899 for 365 days,
jio cleverly uses 336 days, or 28 days, to trick people into thinking that it is for a full year or one month.

I had mentioned the validity period of 336 days in my post. I never said it was for a year.

What you said initially
the long term (336 days) voice only plan of 1748 is the cheapest if you are able to commit to that.
  • you clearly state the plan is for 336 days, not a year.
  • No implication that it’s a full year.
Then I said
It actually 1899 for 365 days,
jio cleverly uses 336 days, or 28 days, to trick people into thinking that it is for a full year or one month.
  • I bring up Jio’s use of 28-day months (i.e., 336 days for 12 cycles) and called it deceptive marketing.
  • However, I said "Jio cleverly uses...", not "you said...", so I am criticizing Jio, not you.
Then you said
I had mentioned the validity period of 336 days in my post. I never said it was for a year.
  • Which is true you did state the 336-day validity.
Then I said
No one claimed that you did.
  • Which is true.
  • I didn’t say ibose claimed it was a year. I just said Jio is tricking people.
Then you said
It was implied in your post
This is a subjective interpretation.

Stop targeting me, I have said nothing to offend you anywhere, I don't know why you are acting this way.

so I am criticizing Jio, not you.
I still don't see why there was a need to quote my post. If you are quoting a post I hope you realize that you are responding to that and I interpreted it the way I did because you wrote - It actually 1899 for 365 days. And there is no such plan. You could have opted to just write without quoting anyone.
As far as deceptive marketing by Jio is concerned, they clearly tell you the validity of the plan in days. It has been a long time since they stopped those cheaper annual plans.

I am talking about the same plan you are talking about. *duh*

1748 (336 days), if you do basic maths, it costs you 5.202 per day, and if you do 365 x 5.202 = 1899 per year.

I rephrased it so it's better for anyone to see, 365 feels so much easy on eyes and mind than 336.

Just think about it why they use obscured numbers like 28 days instead of 30 days, 336 days instead of 365, it is deceptive marketing because calculating the per year cost is not straightforward this way.

I hope you do realize, you are getting so much into the nitty gritty, the more you keep this thing going, the more you show yourself as complaining like a child, "why you quote me", the mere fact that you started this, you as senior member who joined in 2009, this behavior doesn't suit you.

You are coming across more like someone complaining than contributing constructively.

Anyway I am out of this. You can keep on rambling as much as you like, but you're only making a fool out of yourself in front of everyone. I better spend my time contributing to other threads.

A plan consists of a specific amount paid for a specific validity period. What is this rephrasing BS ? Do you get 365 day validity by paying 1899 ? No, so cut this crap as you will confuse folks with your "easy on eyes" rubbish.

And what the hell has that got to do with the topic of this thread ? You don't like it then go cry in some other thread. There are enough threads bashing these companies and what you just described is not new. And if you have difficulty doing calculations, go consult a Class 5 Mathematics book.

What to do ? I take a strong exception to thread derailments and misleading posts. You wrote something when you quoted my post which was misleading and I simply pointed that out. You could have accepted that but instead started to derail the thread and now, resorted to a personal attack.
I hope everything is fine with you, as you used to make valuable posts. Unfortunately the quality of your recent posts have gone down and they appear to be more of rants of frustration than anything else. Take a break, go on a holiday, recharge and then come back.

@mantheman The cheapest option for you in prepaid is this one.

If you try to do the voice only plan and data packs separately, It will cost you more in the end. Unless you have a very scattered internet usage pattern, then you can take advantage of the data packs with less validity, but it put's a heavy constraint on your usage patterns just to save few bucks, it's complicated, so in my opinion it's not worth it.
