Any Tor users onboard ?

Hi guys are there any Tor users onboard ?

I'd been using it since sometime and now I can't connect to the Tor network, so wanted to know if this is an isolated issue or are all users facing the same problem.

Is there a work around or an alternate software ?

btw i'm on Vidalia 0.2.15
 
acquiring the latest one i.e Tor Bundle 0.2.2.35 through a friend, will check and post back.

vivek bro, do post if it works for you and your bundle version.
 
Used that in college to bypass proxy

damn the new one throwing the same issue, stuck at "establishing an encrypted directory connection"

How do you connect to net ?? Try disconnecting > restart system > reconnect to net > retry TOR
 
No luck, tried rebooting and reconnecting, now it is stuck at the first step itself - " connecting to tor"

have put it in hide and letting to work through.

btw i connect through the access points provided by my college. (WiFi)
 
Now i'm on the latest version Tor Bundle 0.2.2.35

I get connected for very short periods after long hours of wait so I don't believe it is a port issue as if it were that I would not be able to connect at all.

Although I haven't changed any settings to my antivirus and firewall because the same settings allowed me to connect to tor earlier, still I tried connecting after shutting down all protection but

still no luck
 
What port does this works ? Check whether the port is opened by netstat -a
 
port is set to 9051 in the application, and by netstat i get "established" as the state

for all tor related ports it is showing established.

I even got connected in the evening for a brief period
 
came across an alternative application called : Ultrasurf.

anyone who is blocked to Tor like myself can switch to this and enjoy free internet.

although i am not sure about privacy issues on this application so stay cautious.
