all such loop holes are plugged in :(

but if you have an airtel connection with free NOP then i guess you can use that in 3g mode.

i have not tried it but one of my friend has a 4 year old card from airtel which now he uses in 3g mode and can browse in 3g for free.

he is not sure of how to use in PC so cannot comment on the further part if it works or not.

What is that?

People, get this straight. There are no more loopholes through which you can use 3G services or cheap. Most carriers have patched, or are in the process of patching, those loopholes where you could recharge for EDGE and piggyback on the 3G network.

I know a lot of people are still using similar methods, but they are all going to be shut down soon.

If you need 3G, pay for it. And please stop PMing me for 'tricks' to use 3G for cheap. I don't know any, I pay for my 3G connection.

all of u broke my heart....

i am not sure since i do not have an airtel connection.

this is what he said his dad has got a corporate connection which has free airtel NOP for lifetime :S

using those settings he can browse for free.

he is using that in 3g and is not being charged for it.

just wait and watch, i still think telecom companies in order to increase their ARPU will in the end rationalize their 3G packs to something modest like 100 bucks for 0.5GB and so on. Also their needs to be good competition from CDMA users, which is not coming as two main players are also holding Unified Access Licensing for GSM and BSNL is not keen on EV-DO and pursuing 3G. so the best bet is BSNL EV-DO and if not available in your area go for BSNL 3G. all the tricks are over and let the competition begin.

Do not remember but i had seen that MTS Will be upgrading their evdo to rev 2.0 which will support speeds of upto 14mbps. If that happens then we might see lower pricing to start on 3g/wireless broadband.
