Since there are no wired internet providers in my area (Dhankawadi) I have been forced to use a wireless provider. Reliance netconnect+ has a plan like this.

5 GB/unlimited plan for 750 Rs.

The catch is, after data usage of 5 GB is consumed at 3.1 Mbps, unlimited browsing is available at speeds up to 144 Kbps.

So, now my questions are -

1)Is anybody using Reliance netconnect+ in Pune? How's your experience?

2)Is anybody using this specific plan? Does browsing/torrenting work when speed reduces to 144 Kbps?

3)Can you recommend me other wired/wireless internet option in Dhankawadi, Pune?

Thanks a lot,

Abhijeet.

1->Yes, Horrible, nonsense and frankly gave up.

2->Yes. What torrent? Its waste of time.

3->Anything else.

^ Thanks for the help LinuxTechie. So, what are my other options? Is anybody using Idea 3g unlimited plan?

Abhijeet.

I get extremely fluctuating speeds with Reliance NetConnect +. Very rarely I get 1Mbps but most of the time it drops down to 200-300 kbps. And there are lot of signal drops. Have to redial the connection to get it working. Any other viable options anyone? #[member='linuxtechie'] ?

#[member='Sei'], #[member='cool_dude'], I am having some good opinion about Tata Docomo 3G data card. But they are damn expensive! You can try luck with BSNL 3G as well. But nothing comes close to having a party.

Don't you dare go with with BSNL 3G!

It's probably even worse than Reliance.

The day you are able to browse for 1hr with BSNL without getting disconnected, that day would be luckiest day for you.

I'm not exaggerating!

Wireless sucks in India(as if wired is doing wonders! lol!)

^ I completely agree. Docomo might have good plans but their network coverage is probably the worst.. What about Tata Indicom guys?
