Linux Anyone got Adobe Air working in Linux ?

I am fed up with Air nonsense. I want to try some jazzy application that comes with it. Like Tweetdeck and Spaz and many more.

I tried install Air in Ubuntu 9.04 and MDV 2009.1 but I get same result everytime

Here is how I installed. Downloaded the AIR run file from Adobe site. Then made it executable . Download Adobe - Adobe AIR

shashwat@shashwat-desktop:~$ chmod +x AdobeAIRInstaller.bin

There simply install it by make it run

shashwat@shashwat-desktop:~$ sudo ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin

I cannot get it working any how.Check the video below while I try to install some application.

Let me know if anyone got it working and if yes then how ?

P.s : Ohh and video recoding is fast in Ubuntu than in MDV

Air is nonsense for me too, though mainly on the UI front.

It's cross platform support feature is what spoils everything. Nothing like a native software application for any Operating System (Linux based, Windows or Mac).

the video is currently blocked for me (in office) but yes, I did install in Ubuntu Jaunty & Sabayon. Let me try it & get back.

is it 32 or 64bit one? heard there r some issues with dependencies in 64bit installs

don't blame cross platform software. Abode is just so boring they are lazy at linux.

check out firefox, pidgin, vlc, php, mysql best daily examples for cross platform applications. they work flawlessly.

After reading your post, I tried builting Adbobe AIR on my 64bit Archlinux.

I simply installed TweetDeck from AUR and its dependencies incl Adbobe-Air were installed automactically:hap2:

Tried to run tweetdesk, it works perfectly. So according to my Experience, AIR works perfectly in Linux
