here is the list of Civilizations
Age of Empires III will feature 8 different civilizations: the British, Dutch, French, Germans, Ottomans, Portuguese, Russians and the Spanish. Each civilization will have unique attributes in regards to their Home Cities, technologies, units, flags, bonuses and gameplay.
The British
Great Britain, the seat of the British Empire, was created through the union of England, Scotland and Wales in 1707. Long known for its superior naval skills, Great Britain played a pivotal role in the colonization of North America.
Bonuses
Centered on a strong economy, British players in AoE III will be granted the ability to gain free Settlers through the creation of each Manor House. Furthermore, British players will be able to create Settlers quicker, raise livestock more effectively, and will have a stronger cavalry and infantry. It is currently unknown whether there will be naval benefits for the British.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Units for the British will be the Longbowman and the Rocket. The Home City will be based on London.
The Dutch
Replacing the Spanish as the wealthiest nation in the 18th century, The Dutch were a key proponent in managing the resources and profits gained from colonial North and South America.
Bonuses
Economically, a Dutch player's bonuses will be two-fold. On one hand, the Dutch settlers will be limited and costly; although, a Dutch player will be able to build banks, which generate a steady flow of gold. Militaristically, the Dutch bonuses emphasis defence over offence.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Units for the Dutch will be the Envoy, Reiter and Fluyt. The Home City will be based on Amsterdam.
The French
France, the extensive colonizer of what would later become Canada, Louisiana and the Caribbean, was both a formidable foe to the British, and a trusted ally to a number of native cultures.
Bonuses
Although a French player's economy begins slowly, the introduction of the Coureur, a strong Settler with fighting skills, will most likely thwart any plans from other nations to attack early. Likewise, the French will be able to communicate and interact with the native cultures with ease.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Units for the French will be the Coureur and the Cuirassier. The Home City will be based on Paris.
The Germans
Brought together from many small independent nations, Germany, while not a colonizer of North America, was a strong European nation throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.
Bonuses
Even though a German player's economy will have fewer settlers and a slower economy, the introduction of the free Settler Wagon and the Uhlan cavalry will greatly assist in both the economy and the military. Furthermore, German players will be able to hire mercenaries from their Home City long before any other civilization.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Units for the Germans will be the Uhlan, Settler Wagon and the Dopplesoldner. The Home City will be based on Berlin.
The Ottomans
The Ottoman Empire, situated in the prime position between Europe and Asia, was the location of great technological and militaristic improvements. Even though the Ottoman Empire did not colonize (as they had no need), the Ottomans did have heavy influence on Eastern Europe.
Bonuses
The Ottoman player will be able to have free Settlers automatically and periodically spawn from the Town Center.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Units for the Ottomans will be the Abus Gun, Spahi, Galley and the Great Bombard. The Home City will be based on Constantinople.
The Portuguese
Portugal, at one time the provocateur of what is now Brazil, was an active force in exploring the globe in the 15th and 16th centuries. As an empire, Portugal influenced one side of the globe to the other.
Bonuses
In AoE III, the Portuguese begin the game with two Town Centers, and will be able to use a 'Spyglass' ability which will allow them to see selective areas of the map. The Portuguese will have a strong navy, strong light cavalry and the most effective Dragoons.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Unit for the Portuguese will be the Cacadore. The Home City will be based on Lisbon.
The Russians
Tsarist Russia, known for its military accomplishments and rapid expansion, was a strong infantry and cavalry orientated nation. Although colonization in North America was limited to what is now Alaska, Russia was nonetheless a substantial European power during AoE III's timeframe.
Bonuses
In AoE III, the Russian player will be able to train settlers and infantry in batches. It is unknown whether the cost of training batches of settlers and infantry will be expensive, or how effective the units will be.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Units for the Russians will be the Strelet, Cossack, and the Oprichnik. The Home City will be based on Moscow.
The Spanish
Spain, one of the greatest colonizers of North and South America, was known for having acquired great wealth from the colonies during the 17th century. While Spain focused primarily on South America, developments in Europe often entangled it in the affairs of other colonizing nations.
Bonuses
Focused on military improvements, a Spanish player's bonuses in AoE III allow for a stronger military (in hand infantry and cavalry), as well as increased flexibility in gaining shipments from the Home City.
Unique Units & Home City
The Unique Units for the Spanish will be the Redolero, Lancer and War Dog. The Home City will be based on Seville.
