ok guys seeing the recent power cuts in bangalore decided to go for a invertor,so i was looking at APC invertors.

apc 600VA costs 12500inc vat(9000 for 120AH battery+750 for APC trolley)
apc 800va costs 14000inc vat( " " )

now the above models are "Stepped approximation to a sinewave "

there is a another APC 1000va model which is sinewave but is said to use 2 80ah batteries in serial so thats 24v and is also a tubelar battery costs 28500(costs of battery +3000 for apc metal trolly)the invertor alone costs 8100 inc vat.

so guys do i need to go for a sine wave since i already have a ups for my pc.
 
can u tell me whats the batteries u are using ,i was thinking of using two 120ah batteries in 1000va model.
also i am DIY kind a guy so can u tell me where they connected it.
 
^ its a simple Series connection .... + - + -.... The voltage gets added in series so its 24v... As you can see + polarity from inverter will be connected to + terminal on first battery while - terminal of the second battery should be connected to the - terminal of the inverter.... + & - are clearly marked behind the inverter... The remaining - & + polarity on the two batteries should be connected to each other...

& yes you do need Pure SineWave Inverter if you are running a Computer even with an UPS
 
Iam using Sukam 800VA PURE SINE WAVE inverter along with 165AH Amaron Tubular Battery. Total cost including battery and other taxes Rs.18000.

thanks for the info but i already knew that, what i wanted to actually know was the connection to the mains,where do i connect it.i.e inverters A.C back up out to main.

can u tell me the cost of the battery alone,and the dealer where u bought the sukham in bangalore.
