The ipad has not been used a lot. The battery backup comes to about 5 hrs of video playback/general browsing it is about 7 hours on full charge,

The only thing that is to be bought is a usb wall charger (no charger was provided along with the ipad) because it takes long times to charge through pc as it does not provide sufficient power required for the first generation ipad

^^.. Glad to hear.. Remember to buy a USB Wall Pin as I said earlier in my posts. The ipad may show "Not charging" when connected to PC but it will be actually charging and takes a long time when charged through PC.
