wrong, thats gone from iOS 15, no more shutter sound.

where do u get such info from ? Warranty is covered in India for all the iPhones as part of Global warranty
Get a imported iphone without invoice and try getting it serviced in India and then come back and let us know.

They do ask for some kind of proof of purchase now.
But it does not have to be an invoice. I was having a hard time locating the invoice soft copy so I showed the FedEx tracking ID instead on my email and that sufficed.

For non India iphone serial #s , I think all they need is something that shows a genuine purchase (and not a stolen item)

And isn't that the invoice? It's best to just get an invoice for Apple warranty claims. From all the things I've heard about them over the years they often give a lot of a headache.
and tbh I don't advice anyone to just say "warranty can be claimed by s/n" if the person doesn't want to take responsibility for it in the future.
No intention to spoil thread. Sorry and GLWS OP.

As mentioned, In my case, just the order tracking mail from FedEx was enough (which is far from an invoice) ..
The other extreme would be say exide battery - where they wanted the physical and stamped warranty card + paper invoice (even though they have a digital warranty app_
YMMV
