Mac OS Apple releases OS X Mavericks for free

If someone can assure me that booting from a Win7 DVD via an external DVD drive will let me install Win 7 then I don't need to install MacOS at all.

Not a problem man. I think I might be able to borrow my friend's Air and download and copy the file from there. I am more in need of a Mac OS running machine than the actual file.
