Apple Wins Patent Case Vs Samsung , Awarded More Than $1 Billion In Damages

Every smartphone need not look and behave like an iPhone to succeed. Look at Nokia Lumia, Sony Xperia and HTC One. All these phones are quite different and have done fairly well in the market.

That guy needs a look at the market stats --
Nokia in Q2: Lumia sales up, company still in the red - GSMArena.com news / Weak Lumia smart-phone sales haunt Nokia - MarketWatch / http://9to5google.com/2012/04/06/htc-reports-painful-q1-net-profit-plummets-70-percent-sales-drop-35-percent/ / http://thenextweb.com/mobile/2012/02/08/from-february-htc-wont-tell-you-how-many-smartphones-it-sells/.

SAMSUNG and Apple have literally cornered ~60% -->75% of the smartphone market (depending on what you read). This leaves the fairly well done market share look poorly.

In the crude-google searches for the sales figures only Sony NXT series (and associated) seems to be gaining ground, thanks to the fact that it has got rid of Ericsson's baggage and now makes the mobiles as it wants them.

Although this has been hyped as a very large issue, the actual phones banned are older, outdated phones and shouldn't affect Samsung's future in any way.
