Application needed

Is there any tool for giving special effect to text. (Apart from adobe photoshop and gimp) I want something simpler than above mentioned two applications.

342 kb that too with a basic text editing.Certainly not the kind of stuff i m looking after. Please suggest me something powerful as gimp or photoshop.

Try mtPaint - its availble on Linux + Windows.also, there is grafx2 - don't if its available on Windows.

You can try Xara.
Also if you find PS too tough, go ahead and download some text styles for PS. There are hundreds of styles available. Click and set. You can also customise them if you wish.
