If any one of you have HP laptop and have used HP Credential manager, will understand what I am looking for.

Are you aware of any application (like HP Credential Manager) that stores user names and passwords for other applications. So for example when you start Cisco VPN, would auto fill your username, password and press login button.

Use KeePass - Its an open-source password manager with easy-to-use feature set. If you wanna like to take your passwords with you, KeePass is available as a portable application too. It has an inbuilt "Auto-Type" feature. Basically, it allows you to define a sequence of keypresses, which KeePass can automatically perform for you. The keypresses can be sent to any dialogs, windows and even to browsers, etc..

By default, the sent keystroke sequence is {USERNAME}{TAB}{PASSWORD}{ENTER}, i.e. it first types the user name of the selected entry, then presses the Tab key, then types the password of the entry and finally presses the Enter key.

Thanks. I tried using that. I don't think it has auto recognize window feature. Means... when I start Cisco VPN, it should automatically recognize what application has been started, and input username and password accordingly.

Is there a way to achieve this using keepass?

^^ I don't think it does. :ashamed:

Auto-recognize window and then auto-login username and password.. Hmm, I think you're asking too much or being too lazy.. :P

not lazy my friend.. i have at least 30 different applications each requiring separate logon procedure - no single sign on facility.

HP credential manager does that pretty easily. There is a stub attached to any "window" opened. The program then keeps track of (i suppose) window GUID and related credentials.
