Application to manage MS office documents.

I need an app which wil help me manage excel and word documents..
Hired new computer operators and want to make their life a bit easy cause if they screw up, i'l have to fix

Also any software to complement such management of computer files and physical files?

what do u mean by manage? U can use free open source project management applications also which can give users predefined rights. Check out dotproject - Open Source Software :: Open Source Project and Task Management Software

Err i need something for a small office with loads of files pertaining to clients and their legal formalities..hence anything that wil help manage these in the most efficient way ?

Dont need a web interface, any screw up with the network wil screw the management also..
