PC Peripherals Applying thermal paste

I have a AMD 635 processor with Gigabyte 785 mobo. I am giving my mobo for repairs to the company service centre as its cell finishes every month and I have to change it.

As the processor has been removed, it needs a thermal paste for reinstalling the processor. Therefore, I would request you to suggest me which thermal paste should i apply and how to apply it on the processor properly.

[font=Verdana,]Will he do the repairs for the mobo immediately or will he give me mobo back after a few days [/font]and should I take my processor and its fan if they apply the paste themselves (as one of my friend says that they apply thermal paste on the processor if in warranty).
