Hi this is Megan from jaxtr. I can promise you that jaxtr is completely legitimate and does not charge you anything to use it.
The way jaxtr saves its users money, is that jaxtr gives you a domestic phone number to use to call your friends who have signed up with jaxtr abroad. We have local phone numbers in over 50 countries worldwide (you can see the full list here:
jaxtr - call faq)-so for free if you are in one of those countries, and call someone on jaxtr, you will not have to pay long distance calling fees to talk to them!
Please note, if you are in an UNSUPPORTED country, you are given a US phone number to use to call friends on jaxtr. Any charges that your service provider would normally charge you for calling the US STILL APPLY. Dialing a number given to you by jaxtr costs you whatever you normally would pay to dial that kind of number (i.e. I am in the US, so it gives me a US number to call my friends in Sweden. Calling this number still uses the minutes I have on my mobile plan, but I save a ton of money because I just pay for a local call instead of an international call).
To the user who reported getting an SMS from his service provider, could you please email me and tell me exactly what it said? (mzoback@jaxtr.com) I want to be sure you haven't gotten any false information!
So please, rest assured knowing that jaxtr will not charge you anything, and they only charges you will ever incur while making a jaxtr call are those normally associated with using your phone.
Happy Talking!:hap2:
