Are OTT bundles worth it?

I have recently gotten my household to completely ditch the traditional cable TV and am exploring my options as to how I can go about the subscriptions to different OTTs, live TV can be sorted out through DistroTV and JioTV through Kodi. But I am confused as to if I should go with a bundle of OTTs like Tata Play Binge or OTTplay or just buy the ones that I think are required separately. As the former is cheaper and also provides additional content, I wanted to know if it was any good. I ones that I require are:
  1. JioHotstar
  2. Zee
  3. Sony Liv
  4. FanCode
I also want then to be able to run in at least 3 separate devices at the same time. If any one has tried both of the ways how has your experience been?
Thank you for your time.

+1.
I would love a service which allows customized bundling of only the subscriptions needed.
Well the tata one does allow you to choose upto 6 for 2500/- year and 4 for 1600

No Netflix. And do they allow customising individual subscriptions for say multiple devices, pq, ad free etc ?
Well that is what I wanna know, they do mention that prime is only available till 720p only on 2 devices and you get 1 day free shipping. But other than that there wasn't anything else mentioned. Also I don't really care for Netflix and already have a prime subscription.

Pretty limited in my opinion and they bundle all the crap that I don't need. I was looking for a customized bundle of Netflix, Apple TV, Jiohotstar, Hoichoi, Zee and Sony Liv.
I suppose these are more oriented towards mobile or tablet and not a TV. Anyways..

depends on what you watch, live sports you can get anywhere, other than very niche shows, soaps and programmes, OTT platforms are pretty much useless unless you know exactly what you want to watch, it has none of the fun of channel surfing. Maybe invest in plex? debris? etc etc

I have a similar query to the OP.

PlayBox TV has an OTT pack where they allow JioHotstar + SonyLIV + Fancode with some other local OTT bundle.
They have and android TV and phone app as well.

I need the functionality of playing JioHostar and SonyLIV in their respective apps instead of playing them through the PlayBox TV app. PlayBox TV app is buggy on the Android TV platform and sometimes doesn't remember previously viewed content and allow resume from last seen point.

PlayBox has a current discount running wherein I can get the LIV and Hostar bundle for 899 per annum.

If the ability to play via respective native apps is present, the subscription becomes a no brainer as I have to pay 899 for JioHostar Super + 1499 for SonyLIV premium.

Any opinions? Or should I take a monthly pack to test if this works the way I want it?

If you only wanna watch on mobile that seems like a good offer just go through the terms and conditions to see if there are any hidden things like regarding ads and all.

No I want to watch it on the android TV - the PlayBox app allows 2 logins simultaneously for JioHotstar and 3 for SonyLiv with the caveat that we use the PlayBox Tv app which is buggy as hell.

Native JioHotstar and SonyLiv app are stable and have better features compared to Playbox TV. The plans have ads - identical to JioHostar Super and SonyLiv premium plans.

When I select Choose Plan in the Get 15 OTT Apps It does not allow more than 6 which is not fair as at least 10 OTT Apps should have been given as primary remaining secondary

When I select Choose Plan in the Get 33 OTT Apps It does not allow me to select which OTTs need to be selected as primary and which to be secondary like in below plan and thereby giving some discount if not choosing any OTT which if it is less than 15 as primary

It would have been perfect.

Thanks for the heads up about Tata Play Binge. I looked it up and it ticks all my boxes regarding OTT requirements.

Signed up for the any 4 OTT plan for 499/- for 3 months - have selected JioHotsar, SonyLIV, Zee5 and Apple TV+ for now.

The Binge app plays all the OTT's obviously. Had to connect my Apple ID to Apple TV+ from within the Binge App from the phone.

JioHotstar works directly from it's own app when signed in with the same RMN as the Binge app. Zee5 and SonyLIV do not work with the Binge RMN though.
Apple TV app works independently if I use the same Apple ID as used in the Binge connection to Apple TV+.

Your post was timely. I would have signed up with the buggy PlayBox TV app if it weren't for your post! Binge allows 4 simultaneous logins from TV, mobile, Firestick or laptop. Simply great!

After 3 Months are done with Binge, I will sign up for the annual plan.

what about the video quality and simultaneous device limits for all the different services?

@Kaching999

Android TV Shows 1080p (Max Resolution supported by the TV) .
Firestick Shows 1080p (Max Resolution supported by TV).

Both my android phones are HD+ and not Full HD and hence limited to 1080p only. I can confirm that 1080 works only all my 4 devices. As regards to 2K or 4K resolution, none of my gadgets support that resolution.

One advantage of running the binge app on android TV is that we need to install SonyLIV and Zee5 app for playback. You don't need to sign in using these apps - the binge app has to be run, it opens a wrapper of the native app and things play well - even subtitles are supported.

However on android phone - Zee5 and Sony content plays inside a chrome web wrapper even though their native apps are installed.

4 logins are supported in all, I have tested simultaneous playback of 2 devices at a time. Physical limitation as I am the only one viewing all the devices :)

Both my wife (chief minister) & daughter (home minister) voted for choose any 6 Apps at 2499/12 months in Get 15 OTT Apps plan. After all my plans expire in May I will subscribe to it. Thanks to Kaching999 I did not know that Tata Play Binge exists until now. I was paying huge amounts to all 7 OTT apps until now including Netflix.
