Other Are spigen cases worth it ?

Considering the price of the cases is there any actual protection or advantage offered in real life by them or is it more of a mental peace thing. Their armoured collection suggests better overall protection. Cases costing upwards of 2k compared to a normal case being 10% of it.

Spigen offers great protection. If you are using a premium phone, you can use it. Else stick with 200rs cases. I often drop my phone and both spigen and other hard cases offered similar protection. Also spigen is heavier.

I've been using Spigen for quite a while now and I'm happy with it. Despite numerous falls, it has protected my phones quite well. It does have a life though, of about 5 years or so. Also, I haven't used any other brand for the last 8 years, so I have nothing to compare it with.

I have used 3-4 Spigen cases in the past without issues. But my current one left me unhappy.

My Galaxy S23 back has 10-20 1-2mm long spots with discoloration, as though something rubbed against it. The photo in this post is exactly how it looks, but I have more of them: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5...s-on-the-back-heat-from-wireless/td-p/6083825

I have a strong suspicion its the Spigen case's inside texture that caused it. I never used the phone without a case.

This post in Reddit also suspects Spigen when used with wireless charging as one potential cause:

I have used cases in the range of 200 -400 and I can say they lasted quite well and we're durable too. I've used spigen also they offer good or better protection but I feel as accessories they cost a lot.
I would suggest choose brands like spigen if own something premium as they don't compromise on quality

I'm a poor handler of phones. I decided to invest in a good case so got the spoken tough armor when I got my s23. It must have fallen at least 50-60 times in the last 2 yrs or so. No issues at all. But yes, the case is heavy af. So keep that in mind that your phone will feel like a brick in your hands.

The material and build feels more quality and premium. But in terms of discolouration all cases are the same not matter how expensive. Protection wise I doubt an expensive case is much better.

I would only go with them if you like the design and appreciate the quality in your hand.

Spigen will protect your phone but my gripe is they don't offer much grip.

I'm more of fan of Ringke

Keep in mind you can get decent generic cases in the Rs.500 range if you have an eye for which designs protect better.

eg. prominent or raised lips in the front to protect the screen and on the back for the camera.

Adequate protection on the corners to handle most drops.

Example

^that case has been on my s20fe for a long time. I recently got the same design for the S23.

The ring at the back pivots out and doubles as a stand or for better grip allows to thread your middle finger through.

Its a solid design for the price. I don't usually recommend generics but you can find good stuff some times

This opinion goes against the tide here.

Bought a Spigen case for my OP6, ended up shattering the glass back.

I'm a rough user and my phone falls down frequently which was why I got the Spigen case in the first place.

Also another pet peeve is that it used to leave an impression on the glass back that was pretty tough if not impossible to remove.

I didn't even realise I had broken it until I opened it one fine day to clean and found glass stuck to the case.

Never used a Spigen case since then.

I have always used a spigen case (cyrill series because it's aesthetically good) for my phones. It's the first thing I buy for my phone and keep it till the moment I sell it.
