Forum Feedback Are user pms accessible to mods?

Posting this question because of concern over sensitive data being able to leak.
If they can access it will have to look for alternatives for sharing sensitive data.
Just curious. Searched for similar topic but could not find anything close to it.

AFAIK they are accessible to the site admin of every forums

if you are concerned for the privacy then you'd have to do it by mail

can't say for sure, but depends on the privilege tree which is different in every forum

But i think user PMs are not monitored generally, except if they have a good reason to

its like asking if NIA taps your calls,

They can tap your calls thats for sure

but no-one can say for sure if they do

It is not accessible to anyone. Not even the mods or admins. The vbulletin admins however have the option of setting up a hack to view the PM. We do not have such a system on TE.

PS: Even if the admins on TE did have such a system they hardly find time to visit TE :lol:

^ Be on safer side- Use private chat, emails and direct phone calls for private discussions. This is what I do when it comes to sensitive data.

As mentioned the PMs are a safe route to communicate. Even about 'other stuff' too.
