I am not a chronic downloader but I do find it hard to let go of stuff. TV series and Movies that I have watched, games that I have played and books that I will never read. I know I will never get back to them but still I don't feel like deleting them unless I run out of space. I had started burning DVDs long back and had around 200 of them in just a few months.

Thankfully I have lately become more sensible and have started to let go. Only download as much as is needed to take me through the coming couple of weeks or so. Have only two 500GB HDDs which contain all that I need.

Thank god, I was an addict.
There was a time when I used to download 150gb+ per month but certainly I realised that most of the stuffs which are being downloaded are redundant among friends/relatives. So start downloading only unique stuffs.
Even after that I used to pass my to-do download list to hi speed friends (pun intended).
Finally ended up in having no Internet at home, except using GPRS on my phone n Lil bit from ofc :)

I am addicted to DL'ing; and not ashamed of it either. Many a times I DL content, which I will never even use. Why..? I just love the concept of P2P; and it somehow signifies free-speech on the www for me. That is why I almost had an heart-attack and stomach ulcers and a$$ boils; when I was CAP'ed during the Singham/Reliance release fiasco. Also, gives me a nice opportunity to bash our lame ISPs.

I still get up at 2am to download on my BSNL 500c plan. Anime, movies and occasionally games. Do around 50 to 70 gb per month

I'm an anime/ manga/ all things japan fan. You know what OVA/OAV or AV/IV etc mean.
I'm an addict too.
YES!
YES!
YESSSSS!.....

Yes...there is something very unique about Downloading,it makes me feel free and relieved.I guess that makes me an addict
have a BSNL 500c Plan,download about 75-80 a Month

I was an addict with downloads upto 500~ 700 GB per month but it got reduced by a lot after i came back to India and hardly have time to watch what i download. These days max i download is 100GB a month.

I dont keep most of the stuff i download , it just watch and delete. Most of the stuff what i download is for friends who have cr@ppy internet connection.

If i get time to watch and our speeds are insane i would certainely download :P.

I am a 'A' grade level addict. There was a time I used to download 1000Gb per month and had a connection allowing me to download 300Gb per day.

Nowadays, even if I have nothing to download I will sit in my PC for hours searching for what to download. Whenever the drive connected to my router gives up my PC is on for weeks and sometimes months.

when I get up in the night, I will switch on the screen and check the download status.
whenever I open my eyes in the night- first think I look is if the broadband light is blinking rigorously (if Not I would get up and check if the connection is ok or if the download is complete or stopped by mistake)
whenever I come from office or GYM; first thing I see is if the download are working properly:)

I am so much of an addict that I get additional stuff (useless ofcourse) downloaded from my friends:).

Yes...I am an addict and this can be reinforced from my 20TB of hard drives and 2500+ collection of manually written DVDs (which are ofcourse sealed packed to prevent oxidation of the dye now)

Forgot to mention:
I used to pay a hige money to my IT guy to pass me a proxy from which I could download from filesharing sites without being monitored:)

Thank you @6pack for saying it loud and clear, without any fear ...... Yes we all are addicts in some ways or the other, permit me to add my own to your 22 Sacred Commandments :hail:

23 - You look like a Shell shocked zombie, when, for the 576th time your Wifey SCREAMS, "Why is the MTNL Bill so HIGH" (This when you have told her 575 times that nothing in the bill's changed for the past 5 years - except the damm taxes).
24 - You do not allow anyone else at home to add their stuff to your own download queue, 'coz they download crap things!
25 - You like to Brag about having crossed over a 1000 films ...... and now you are heading at the 5000 mark.
26 - You think your wife's collection of movies is the bollywood masala type, whereas yours is cinema paradiso or the cerebral type.
27 - You collect documentaries of the most esoteric topics.
27 - You have painstakingly catalogued each and every film in excelsheet (with data from IMDB)
28 - You curse yourself when you discover have two more copies of the just downloaded file.
29 - You brag about ONLY downloading 1080p stuff in mkv and never-mind if each of them are over 10GB in size.
30 - You wonder why your HDD get's full so fast.
31 - You always tell yourself, you would sit one day and do some "house-keeping" and clear off all the old stuff.
32 - You download movies and stuff for your kids, so that one day they may cultivate your same interests for the "movies" (never imagining that they may not even want to cast a second glance at your stuff).
33 - You download like crazy because you fear that soon, one-day, google or your own government may put a stop to all this or come up with some "non-bailable" warrant & get you arrested.
34 - You curse your ISP and the Government and just wonder how folks in other countries get speeds of 10-100MBps.
35 - and many more reasons ........

All this from a confirmed addict whose broadband usage is 220 -260GB a month :yahoo:

Ameen

Even i have quit from downloading, but still not able to understand or control the feel of having torrent client empty or no downloading from my mobile, lappy or pc ???
Please somebody help me in getting answer of above questn ;)

In the above list, i satisfy only one point of yours. Yet, addicted :p

01 - You feel the need to download something if you see your torrent client list empty and just sitting idle.

The fact is - I've a slow internet connection, so i dont download all the things i need.
Even if i put a 700-MB movie, it will take hours to download. And thats how i started to download MKV rips of movies (most in the size of 350-500MBs).

I will put a MKV rip movie in my torrent, when i start to watch a 1.5-2 hrs movie. So, when the movie ends - i will have a newer movie to watch.
Surely downloading things this way contributes to PIRACY. But, there is no other way to watch those fantastic Korean/Thai/Japanese movie inside India.
