I need to know about the Asrock motherboards, ASRock Z77 Pro 3 Motherboard | Motherboard | Flipkart.com

I am looking at Pro 3 as it looks at a good price and I am looking for an OCing build. My budget is not that high that is why I am looking for this.
What do you guys think??

I just bought this yesterday. I have used ASRock motherboard before so I knew they are very good. Actually this mother is a very good lbuy in terms of cost and value. It has among the best reviews in it's price range. I am not sure about the servicing part but I do know everyone but Intel provides bad service here in India. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Ankur.J what is your budget at the end of the day? For the whole setup.
For the whole setup I am looking to keep it below 60k. So basically I am looking to get a 13-14k 3570k, a 15k 7850, a mobo <10k, the mobo is the part where I can reduce the cost, since I am going to OC, I need the Z77. Not sure which ones to get. The ASRock series seem to be at a good price.

Nice where did you buy it from? I am building a desktop for the first time, I have no idea about the service, but just hoping to get a low cost Z77 mobo, this was the cheapest I could find. If you guys can find any other cheaper in price then please reply back.

I got it from Flipkart, because of their 30 day return policy. I did a bit of research before buying this mobo and no other motherboard even came close to it at the cost. I basically had to give up no feature I required because of low budget. I never see myself going for SLI or Crossfire setup (very little return on investment). So the one shortcoming doesn't effect me. ASRock board boards in general are very good quality IMHO.

^^ What about cooler?

And SMPS?

That will bump the price up once more. And a HD7850 2GB is not what I recommend, go for a GIGABYTE GTX660 2GB ~15700/- (from flipkart.com).

^^ *cough*great build-quality*cough* the ASRock Pro 4 did not have proper ATX screw layout, in certain cabinet that thing used to get loose over time. Uneven weight distribution and cooler issues got complicated thanks to this unorthodox screw layout as well.

Sometimes the socket pins used to be found damaged and the entire thing used to be DoA. *cough*great build-quality*cough*

I would rate them no better than MSi in that sphere.

Yea I am looking at for cooler I am looking at Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Cooler | Cooler | Flipkart.com

PSU Corsair CMPSU-600CXV2UK 600 Watts PSU | Psu | Flipkart.com

660 sounds good, will check out the reviews now.

Just compared pro 3 and extreme 3 and the difference is only PCI-e x16 slots, looks like pro3 can do the job for me.

I am honestly not aware of those issues. Those kind of issues are detected immediately. If bought from Flipkart, one can return it within 30 days. I had a Gigabyte motherboard earlier (see signature). It died in July this year. The experience of getting it serviced was so bad that I decided to buy another motherboard. They sent me back my motherboard without doing anything with it.
I have had good experience with an Asus motherboard too. If it comes in OP's budget, he can think about it too.

Okay, STOP!

Do not buy this SMPS, if you want to over-clock absolutely NO!

You will need a Seasonic S12II 520W ~4400/-. Minimum.

Do not know about Chandigarh local area serviceability but to my knowledge the curve goes like this --
GIGABYTE > ASRock >= ASUS.

The motherboard that has all these issues is the senior version of the ASRock motherboard that you bought, the ASRock Extreme4.
