Hello Guys,
How are y'all doing?
Well, I need a little bit of help here, may sound noobish but anyway here goes.

It has rather been very long since I have updated or upgraded my system, last one being a p4 @ 1.8ghz (which is still in use):ashamed:

But now after much deliberation and reading done on the forums here (been rather very dormant, didn't really have much to share) I have got myself a rather decent rig after having worked for a month or two.

Now the thing is, even though I know how to get around with the parts in a cabinet, I am not that well versed with putting together the motherboard and the processor :ashamed: , though the idea of how its done is very much clear.

So, I was wondering if any of Pune guys here could help me out to get this thing up and running maybe during the weekend or something :).

BTW, I got all my stuff from mediahome (great guy!)
And here is the rundown
AMD Phenom II X4 940
Biostar TA790GX128M
Coolermaster CM690
Coolermaster Real Power Pro 460w
Corsair xms2 2*2gb

And willing to put in my old ide hdd and optical drive into it as of now, will put purchasing those soon as well.

Anyway, all inputs are welcome. Still haven't even opened the boxes yet(was delivered today itself), will just have a look at the loot now and then am off for the day.

Thanks,
Arnab

I would have loved to get my hands dirty, but I stay in bangalore:( . I am sure someone will help u out here.

Well, I stay in Viman Nagar.

I opened up the stuff today morning, and did a bit of reading. Mounted the PSU in the cabinet. The case's interior is pretty roomy and well made overall.

Shouldn't be all that difficult to get it all done. Little apprehensive about the heatsink installation. Also am waiting for Windows 7 to complete downloading.. so, I could get it up and running. But anyway, I guess I will try and put all the stuff in by tomorrow or something.

Ahh would have loved to pitch in, but I stay at Pimple Saudagar another distant corner...

Read some guides/watch videos on youtube and do it yourself, this is a good opportunity. Im sure you can manage it. :)

Hey Guys,

I actually did manage to put the entire thing together myself.

How cool is that?

Booted properly, checked the bios, everything seems fine. This thing is very silent. My current system sounds like a garbage disposal unit in comparison :D

Anyhoo, did also try to connect my ancient ide 40gig hd with xp on it. Wasn't booting properly, was restarting... I guess I would be completing the windows 7 by tonight. Then will plug in the 160gig ide and check, and then next month a 500gig sata on pay day ;)

Will post some pics, later on...

Awesome.
You'll be a lot more proud of it now that you've put it together yourself :)

I was like same or even more noobier than this before 2 years.. I never ever opened my Cabby panel that time..

Just curiosity, "What's inside this dubba??" was the reason why I'm here...

I was getting help from Internet to assemble my PC.. Now, I'm proud that I'm Internet and Computer Addicted :P

Very nice that you've managed to do it all :)

Congo Bongo... You are super dooper happy now !!! I know how exhilarated I was when I assembled my first rig (wasnt mine tho :bleh:)

congrates arnab, nice to hear u did it yourself.

Are u running on stock heatsink and IGP? How is it going?
Unfornately saw this thread late today... otherwise i would have dropped at ur place for few mins to check ur pc and get w7 setup as i am downloading it for 3rd time and bored to much. Was there to drop my dad at airport.

Have a great time with ur pc now. And send me pm with ur contact no. I wanna talk with u.

mykey.... so tried ur hand first on others pc uhh.? Nice way to learn :D Just kidding

Thanks for the comments guys.

I checked the cpu temp in the bios and on the system itself, varying from ~37-41 degrees. I seem to think that is fine?

And yeah I am on stock CPU heatsink and onboard graphics. Will post some pics of the interiors in sometime (kept the cameras battery on charge)

Harpy, will PM you in sometime!
