ASUS 6800LE To 6800GT

It seems like the current batch of ASUS V9999LE cards based on 6800LE can be soft modded to 6800GT. Using Rivatuner, 8 hidden pixel pipelines on V9999LE card can be unlocked unveiling a total of 16 pixel pipelines like the 6800GT/Ultra. The 2 hidden vertex pipelines can also be unlocked to unveil the full 6 vertex pipelines. The 3DMark2003 score jump from 6707 to 9063 as a result.

First ONE correction:Its the 3DMARK'03 scores that are posted not 3DMARK'05!

Second,9063 for an unlocked 6800 is very low.

I believe funky's oc'ed 6600GT tops that.Even on my cpu-bottlenecked rig I get a 8400 3DMARK'03 score.

Third,many other 6800s and 6800LEs have been similarly unlocked.Mostly the 6800LEs will do 12/6 and the 6800s will do 16/6.So while a 6800LE unlocking to 16/6 is good,its also a matter of luck.Its never guaranteed.
 
Guys i really didnt notice that those are 3D marks 03 and not 05.
But VRZone mentions as 05 so i posted what they had written.

Also note that just because it can be unlocked doesn;t mean it will perform as well as a GT. The 6800GT runs at higher clock speeds than the LE.

So, you may get an underclocked 6800GT
 
Nah ! Even my 6800 is no where close to a GT...

After all the 6800GT has 256MB of GDDR3 memory with a much higher clock. The 6800LE and 6800NU have a lower clock speed, 128MB DDR memory and a 12 x 5 configuration which can be unlocked to 16 x 6 in some LE cards and most NU cards...

When you own a card, a bit of research on and around it always helps ;)...
 
^^^^ exactly, you cannot "flash" or mod a 6800nU or LE to a 6800GT because they use a different type of memory, you can only make the core have the same number of pipes and vertex shaders. Even after that the card will have less clocks than the 6800. But when you unlock the 6800 its awsome!
