I was looking to buy a board and seeing as how many problems plague the 680i I thought I would try a 965/975 board so I have selected the Commando , but if someone can confirm for me that the QX6700 will work with the Commando out of the box without a BIOS update and also let me know if there are any problems associated with the board such as stability issues or data loss which occur with the 680i.

Also I'm looking for suggestions so do recommend a board. I need a board with as many PCI slots/SATA ports as possible. I don't need SLI. QX6700 compatibility out of the box. Runs at least DDR2 800. And of course a reliable stable board with no data corruption.

The problems you mention were present only in the early refernce boards. Branded 680i mobos don't have that issue, afaik.
 
i think harshal mentioned that they only had issues with raid or such. he was using a 680i based asus board and had no problems with data corruption
