Laptops Asus K53SV SX520D GPU temp

Hello,
I have recently bought an Asus K53SV-SX520D laptop (2 days back) and it's my first laptop. I have been playing call of duty modern warfare2 on it and noticed that every time I play the game, the GPU (nvidia 540m) gets heated up easily..it sometimes reaches 85 degree Celsius and cools down to 70s..It doesn't stay 80+ for long. When I quit playing the game the GPU cools down within few seconds .. All I want to know is whether its common for a laptop GPU to get that hot?

Laptop Config:
Intel Core i5 2nd gen
4 GB RAM
Nvidia 540M 2GB GPU

High Temperatures are normal in High End Laptop GPUs during Graphics intensive Game play. I would suggest you to avoid it to maintain High temps for very long time. it may die you mother board, CPU, GPU soon.

Some suggestions to avoid High temps: Don't play at ultra settings. Allow proper ventilation to your laptop during game play. If you would put it on your bed than the fans would be clogged and unable to ventilate the air properly. Also You must buy a good Laptop Cooling Stand soon.
