Asus , the manufacturer of Google Nexus 7 tablet has launched an affordable Android tablet called MeMO Pad.
The Asus MeMO Pad sports 7 inch display but with lower ( 1024x600 ) resolution than that Nexus 7. It is powered by single core VIA SOC which has 1GHz Cortex A9 CPU and Mali 400 GPU. The RAM is 1GB and it has 8GB or 16GB built-in storage. It has Wi-Fi connectivity and micro USB connector, it has no GPS.
However, unlike the Nexus 7 which does not have expansion slot, the MeMO Pad gets a microSD card slot. It only has front facing camera which is 1MP with f/2.0 lens. It will ship with Android 4.1 out of the box and will have Google Play Store.
The MeMO Pad will be cheaper than the Nexus 7 and cost $149 and will be available from April in the USA.
