hi guys,
need a quick opinion.
msi k9n is based on 6150 while m2nmx is on 6100, i think.
also k9n is a tad bit expensive. so which one has a better reputation ?
also k9ngm2 NBP or FID ??
my needs are not much, just need a decent board ~4k

Well not much of a difference ... both are really good :S

But 6150 has TV Encoder and TMDS/DVI , Graphics Clock at 475 MHz vs 425 MHz , HD(1080p/1080i) and Video Scaling High Quality(5x4) + DVI-D port

Both MSI and Asus make really good boards .. [ personally use a m2npv-vm which is rock solid .. :hap2: had sound issues which were driver issues ]

since the mobo is the platform .. i personally would prefer a m2npv-vm if price is ok or else K9NGMG2 fid then M2NMX .. but in msi boards .. FID features are not availabe always .. better check it out

Go for MSI K9NGM2-FID. This Board rocks man; Excellent Stability, Board Layout quite decent, Realtek 8 Channel Audio (7.1) with SPDIF Output, South Bridge fitted with a Heatsink which ASUS Boards don't have, better RAM Compatibility.

Only one con: Absolute no overclocking options in BIOS.

I will ask you to go for the M2N-MX if you are ok with the fact it does not come with DVI port and the TV-out bracket. As of the BIOS options in M2n-MX u can OC with FSB range upto 300. Even chipset voltage , vcore voltage & memory voltage(upto 2V) are there.

I have got the X2 3600+ Brisbane & this mobo combo for 6.7k + VAT in Bangalore. Could easily OC the X2 (stock 1.9Ghz) to 2.4Ghz for 24/7 use for my frend.....if you have a decent aftermarket cooler 2.8G should be very easy on this system. Another good thing is the onboard sound is AD based & not realtek.
