On starting my system, the motherboard is not giving the "Start-up beeps" and there is no display also, however both the CPU and Cabinet fans are running, I tried swapping CPU, RAM, Graphics Cards, etc etc and it seems that the problem is with the Mobo. Any ideas on what could have gone wrong? :@

One of my friends suggested that probably my BIOS has got fried, however I haven't carried out any BIOS updates recently not have I have any BIOS update utility installed.:(

Can you tell me how I can contact Asus (it's an ASUS A8N-SLI Mobo) for the repairs in Mumbai? Also, I'm not sure if the Mobo is under warranty (most probably it is) as I don't have the bill. Is there any way of confirming if it's under warranty? And if it's under warranty, what all things will I need to get it repaired "under warranty" from Asus.
Phew...that a lots of question  It will great if someone can help me with these.

Thanks in advance

Is this a new mboard that has never booted, or is it an old one that is now having probs?

How much RAM do you have? One of the problems that a lot of boards are having is the settings for the default voltages for the RAM. If you are running more than a single stick, try just one of your RAM modules, and if able to boot, change the voltage of the ram to recommended by manufacturer, then put in the others. This may fix your problem... :)

Also make sure you have the cpu power plug attached too, the board will power up with the 24 pin, but won't boot, so it will seem like the board is not working.

There should also be some jumpers for you to reset the CMOS, pull the main power plug, reset the CMOS and then pull the little round battery for a min too.

Then try and reboot.

The motherboard was working perfectly till a couple of days back, I was running Vista on it :ohyeah:

As mentioned, the board, ram etc were working fine....one day out of the blue it just stopped :( so I don't think it's becuase of the RAM

Checked this also, I used two different PSU's. The green led on the Motherboard (Asus boards have an diagnostic led on them) glows green when power supplied, when I press power on only the fans rotate nothing happens

Tried this too...

i heard sthing similar to this on other boards ... "system failed cpu test" flashes on the monitor for them i suppose....its the mobo...get it replaced

Yeah... I would have to agree.... it sounds like the board is fried :(

I wish you luck..... how old is the board, maybe you can get Asus to take it back or repair it :)
