which is better Gigabyte GA-G31-S2L or ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS

Asus claims theirs is made especially for India and is backed by anti-power surge technology that provides protection against power fluctuations. Is this true or just some marketing gimmick?

Which has better onboard sound? I have creative 2.1 speakers

BTW I trust gigabyte more. G31 is very stable board.
