So i am getting very excited about this tablet , is there any reason that i should not be getting one?

The user reviews I came across at androidtablets were all good, but most report a lag in the user interface. This could be a honeycomb issue as it seems to afflict Xoom too. Having waited for the Notion Ink, then something else, Xoom ruled itself out due to cost, the Transformer is a good buy but don't want to squander money on a laggy interface.

Next up are Samsung 10inch, Lenovo 10 inch IPS, and a few others I can't remember. There are new dual core chips by Qualcomm, Samsung and Texas instruments in a few months so a lot to wait for.

Take a look at the review by Anand. Praises the hardware while complaining about the firmware issues. (but then he also mentioned that the build he had was pre-release and that Asus expected to release with updated firmware that fixes most bugs).

Its specs are just great

NVIDIA Tegra 2
HD Cam
GPS
16 Hour battery with keyboard and 9+ without
IPS panel

Its gonna sell like hotcakes... :D

unfortunately the only way i can get it cheaper is to get it through someone and not through shipping :( customs is killing

I doubt that there is much of a difference in price in mobiles/netbooks in India and USA, at least at launch.

The original Galaxy Tab was for like $650/700 euros abroad and like 35-37k in India.

Galaxy S at launch was $900-1000 in australia, Aud, 550 pounds in UK and Rs.28-31k in India.

If you multiply the MSRP of a tablet by 50+-2/3 you get the Indian price, for USD conversion, at least for brands like Asus and MSI. At times it can go up by 55+ as well though.

So the basic transformer should have a street price of around 20-22k and the 64gb 3g version for like 35-40k, at launch. I am talking of street price compared to American launch price/MSRP/effective initial street price!

Honeycomb isn't as "laggy" as most make it out to be. Just a few hiccups here and there. It is also important to consider what kind of hardware the OS is running on.

It's a brand new OS after all, so one should give Google the time to iron out glaring issues and make it snappier.

Updates will be available soon, in the form of firmware updates and software upgrades from the manufacturer. :)

Almost everything comes to India. You name it, any motherboard, graphic card, any big thing. Small variants may not make it, but by and large every big thing does.

I almost guarantee that sooner or later it will be launched in India.

Officially, the expected release date is in June!

I will be getting this.

If price is around 25k then it would be better to buy from India but if its 30k+ then were being ripped off again.

Im in two minds whether to wait and buy in India in a month or two or buy one right now from usa.

Street price for 16gb wifi will be about 25k or less

3g will be about 30-35k, 16gb

keyboard dock around 6-8k or so
